Joe Manganiello is in “shock” over the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The “Magic Mike XXL” star took to Instagram Friday to share a photo of Hutchins and opened up about their experience working together on 2020’s “Archenemy.”
“I woke up to the messages and read the news and I am in shock. I was so lucky to have had @halynahutchins as my DP on Archenemy. She was an absolutely incredible talent and a great person,” Manganiello began.
“She had such an eye and a visual style, she was the kind of cinematographer that you wanted to see succeed because you wanted to see what she could pull off next. She was a fantastic person.”
Manganiello, 44, described Hutchins as a woman who was “an ally to anyone in front of the camera” and someone who never caved to pressure.
“Everyone who knew her was rooting for her,” he said.
Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed by Alec Baldwin while on the New Mexico set of “Rust” Thursday. She was 42.
“I can’t believe that this could happen in this day and age… gunfire from a prop gun could kill a crew member? This is a horrible tragedy,” Manganiello ended his message. “My heart goes out to her family and especially to her son. I am so sad today for everyone who knew her and worked with her.”
No charges were filed against Baldwin as of late Thursday, and detectives were still interviewing witnesses.
“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of ‘Rust’ involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” a production spokesperson told Deadline.
The Western drama’s director, Joel Souza, 48, was also struck in the incident but survived.
“The entire cast and crew has been absolutely devastated by today’s tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Halyna’s family and loved ones,” the production company said in a statement to The Post.
